Town Hall of  Brest
In 1681 the Brest municipality is formed and sits in the residence of the mayor, which is a problem when this one stay at Recouvrance. Only the boat allows the crossing of Penfeld River. One thinks to buy the Saint-Pierre hotel, but finances of the city don't allow to bid higher on the Navy, which also covets the building to install the Maritime Headquarters there.
In 1757 the municipality takes possession for 26 000 pounds of the Chapizeau hotel, police chief of the marine, located vis-a-vis at the jesuits's chapel.
This building many times renovated, arranged, increased, is stayed the Town hall of Brest until the destruction of the city in 1944.
